Solo Switch

Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Solo Switch. Plain English. No tricks.

What Solo Switch does

Solo Switch helps you find better deals on your household bills (energy, internet, mobile, insurance, and similar) and, when you authorise it, switches you on your behalf. We act as your authorised agent for the specific switches you approve.

Using Solo Switch

To use Solo Switch you must:

How a switch works

  1. You add a bill, usually by scanning it.
  2. We find better deals using published provider data and our catalogue.
  3. If you approve a deal, you authorise us to act as your agent for that one switch.
  4. We submit the switch request to the new provider with the details they need.
  5. The new provider takes over, sets up your account, and contacts you for anything they need.
  6. We track the switch status and tell you when it's done.

What we promise

What we can't promise

The savings shown in Solo Switch are estimates based on the bill data you provide and the provider data available to us. Real-world bills depend on usage, market rates, and provider terms that can change. We can't guarantee a specific saving.

We don't control:

Cooling-off and cancellation

Australian and New Zealand consumer law gives you cooling-off rights for many switches. The exact period depends on the category:

If you cancel within the cooling-off period, you don't pay an exit fee for the new contract. Some providers may charge for service you've already used.

Fees

Solo Switch is currently free for customers. If we introduce fees in the future, we'll tell you well in advance and ask you to opt in. We'll never charge you for something you didn't agree to.

Bank details

If a switch needs direct debit, you give us your BSB and account number. We pass these to the new provider as part of the switch request and don't store the full account number in our admin system afterwards (we keep the last four digits for support).

You authorise the new provider to set up the direct debit. Solo Switch never debits your account.

Your responsibilities

What you can't do

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Solo Switch is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including loss of expected savings, service outages caused by providers, or decisions you make based on our recommendations.

Nothing in these Terms excludes the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law or the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ). If a guarantee applies and we breach it, our liability is limited (where the law allows) to re-supplying the service.

Service changes

We may update Solo Switch, including features, supported categories, and the providers we work with. If we make a change that materially affects you, we'll notify you in the app or by email.

Suspending or ending your access

We can suspend or end your access to Solo Switch if you breach these Terms, attempt to defraud us or a provider, or use the service in a way that risks harm to you or others. We'll explain the reason if we do this.

You can stop using Solo Switch any time. Email us to delete your account.

Privacy

Your data is handled under our Privacy Policy.
